Mégane II is an individual hatchback which provides driving pleasure to
match the expectations suggested by its design and equipped to offer the
highest level of safety for all occupants.
Mégane II's character is exemplified by it dynamic, thoroughbred
lines. Energetic and sporty, Mégane II offers a studied approach to
driving pleasure. It is also equipped with all-new front and rear
suspension combining precision with powerful isolation systems. Its
ride and handling are highly efficient in all circumstances. Mégane II
is equipped with ABS, a tyre pressure monitoring system and emergency
brake assist as well as the innovative new-generation ESP system
incorporating understeer control logic (UCL).
Mégane II is available from the start with 5 engine configurations:
three petrol engines (98bhp 1.4 16V, 115bhp 1.6 16V and 136bhp 2.0
16V) and two common rail technology diesel engines (80bhp 1.5 dCi
and 120bhp 1.9 dCi). They are fitted with both manual and automatic
transmissions designed to take full advantage of the power of their
engines. A new 6-speed manual gearbox developed by Nissan and
known as NDO, is available on the top-range 2.0 16V and 1.9 dCi engines.
When it comes to safety, Mégane II aims for excellence. Its large range
of equipment confers maximum, identical protection for all occupants.
Its reinforced structure guarantees ideal car body deformation in the
event of a collision.
The cabin interior is discrete and modern. Its ergonomic design offers the
ultimate in user-friendliness. Mégane II is the perfect embodiment
of Renault's expertise in terms of comfort and travelling pleasure. It
is equipped with technologically-advanced features originally developed
for luxury vehicles: the Renault card, which enables hands-free entry
and go, the tyre pressure monitoring system, a choice of two Carminat
navigation systems, etc.
Mégane II is the first Renault programme to take into account the
requirements of Life-cycle Environmental Management (LEM).
Mégane II will be distributed in 75 countries.
